This program & awards event was created to honor outstanding K–12 education leaders in public, private and charter schools throughout Nassau County, based on nominations and input received from the public. Throughout the COIVD-19 pandemic we have seen them meet countless new challenges, and they are more deserving than ever of recognition for their passion, perseverance and dedication.
A Head of the Class Advisory Committee, which is made up of multiple stakeholders across the Long Island education landscape, will review all nominations in the three categories: Top Elementary School Teacher, Top Middle School Teacher and Top High School Teacher. 10 Finalists will be chosen in each category.
Then the celebration begins! One Grand Prize Winner in each category will be announced live at the 2021 Head of the Class Awards Gala, a virtual ceremony on the night of Wednesday, June 16 at 6p.m. All Finalists and the Top 3 Winners will also be recognized with a special editorial section in all editions of the award-winning Long Island Herald newspapers and online in a dedicated section at LIHerald.com.
